Jasmine Kershaw
Co-Founder
My own journey with tutoring began when I was preparing for my 11+ exams. I had support in both English and Maths, and it made all the difference. I continued with Maths tutoring well beyond the exams — not just for the academic help, but because I’d built a brilliant relationship with my tutor. That connection transformed Maths from a subject I studied into something I genuinely loved, and it’s what led me to take A-Levels in Maths and Further Maths, study Physics at Oxford, and later complete a Master’s degree at Imperial College London.
After graduating, I decided to try tutoring myself, curious to see what it felt like to be on the other side of the table. I built up a client base while I was still studying and quickly found it incredibly rewarding. I went on to work full-time as a tutor for two years, and even after transitioning into a career in software development, I continued working with a number of students I’d built strong relationships with.
Over the years, I’ve tutored students aged 9 through to university level — from foundational skills to GCSEs, A-Levels, university applications, and even mock interviews. I’ve also worked with several other tutoring agencies, which gave me valuable insight into what really works for students and tutors alike. These experiences shaped my belief in the power of meaningful, personalised support — not just to boost grades, but to build confidence, motivation, and a lasting love of learning.
That’s the ethos behind Hove Tutors — to provide thoughtful, tailored tutoring that goes beyond just ticking boxes, and instead builds lasting academic growth and genuine curiosity.

Before starting Hove Tutors, I ran a personal training business for over 10 years where I helped people set goals, stay motivated, and achieve real results. I bring a strong focus on understanding people’s needs and making sure they’re well taken care of. That mindset carries over into everything I do at our Hove Tutors.
I handle day-to-day operations—scheduling, communication, and making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes—so our tutors and students can stay focused on learning. I’m passionate about creating a reliable, friendly, and professional experience for every family we work with, and I’m always here to help if you have any questions along the way.
